Artist Profile
Auguste Lubickaite (IG: @augusteluart) is an emerging Lithuanian contemporary artist based in Japan, renowned for her fluid and elegant artwork. Born and raised in Klaipeda, Lithuania, she draws inspiration from her diverse background in music and digital visual effects, blending creativity, technicality, and emotional depth in her work.
After graduating from a traditional art school in Lithuania, she moved to the United Kingdom, where she began her career as a visual effects artist in the video game industry, exploring the technical aspects of art. However, her pursuit of authentic expression led her to Japan, where she now resides and continues to explore new perspectives in her latest painting collections.
Her artwork as a translation of the light and dark she experiences in her culturally diverse life. Drawing on her Baltic roots and Scandinavian influences, Auguste uses unconventional mediums such as coal, sepia, and chalk, manipulating them in both fluid and textured forms. Through these intricate expressions in her paintings, she invites the viewer to interpret the canvas and engage in a dialogue with themselves demonstrate. Auguste's work that art is a reflection of a rich accumulation of experiences, creating an ongoing narrative shaped by each viewer serves encounters her paintings.
